Šempeter pri Celju – archaeological park with Roman burial grounds.
Celje – a city the Romans called Celeia or named as well The Little or The Second Troy – Troia secunda was one of the most flourishing Roman Colonies. Take a walk through the princely city centre of Celje with its sights – Trg celjskih knezov square with a Princely Mansion, Minorite Monastery, Muzejski-, Glavni- and Slomškov trg squares. The hill above Celje is ruled by Stari grad castle in its times presenting the biggest fort on Slovene grounds – this was the seat of Celje Counts, renowned for the most famous and the most important aristocratic and governing family on the Slovene territory.
Laško and the brewing tradition – this is a small city by Savinja River where the brewery of the Slovene beer brand Laško is – the festival Pivo in Cvetje (“Beer and Flowers”) is organized there each summer. The sights that are as well worth seeing here are – Laško Mansion, Tabor old castle, Štok baroque mansion, Laško brewery museum and spa and health centre with a long history.
