Pleterje Monastery – this Cartusian Monastery surrounded by a high and long wall lies in a quiet valley at the foothills of Gorjanci and it is still in operation. The church is said to be one of the best preserved Cartusian churches. A library of wide selection and an art collection can be viewed there. An audio-visual presentation enables the visitors a glance into the life of monks. In a small shop in the monastery all their products can be bought. By the parking lot there is an outdoor museum with the famous architecture of Dolenjska Region.
Kostanjevica na Krki – one of the smallest and at the same time the oldest cities on the Slovene grounds, lying by the Krka River. It is also known under the name “The Slovene Venice”. In a former monastery there is a gallery with collections of Slovenia’s well-known artists. Kostanjevica castle and tourist caves are located close by.
